The administrative staff of the PCSO includes the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Chief Deputy of Operations, Administrative Division Chief, Records Manager, Civil Deputy, and Digital Records Specialist.
The Sheriff of Pitkin County employs 29 certified Peace Officers dedicated to the patrol and investigative functions of a geographic area that is 973 square miles.
The Pitkin County Jail is a detention facility that houses inmates awaiting trial or serving a short sentence (usually around 2 years). The Jail makes available services and programs to enhance physical and mental wellness and encourage self rehabilitation and successful re-integration to society for all inmates.
The Pitkin County Regional Emergency Dispatch Center is the 9-1-1 Public Safety Answering Point for many municipalities, Fire Districts, and Emergency Medical Service agencies in the Roaring Fork Valley.
